The CR:243/4 is suitable for most long term environmental noise
monitoring applications. The noise processor is enclosed in the
tilting mast, with the microphone mounted on top. Due to the nature
of the mast, it is suitable for installation in residential areas
where obtrusive masts and large boxes are not wanted. Not only is
the mast difficult to vandalize, but it tends not to attract attention
in the first place.
If used, the event recognition templates can be used to identify
noise events such as aircraft, road traffic, trains, etc.
At the same time as the instrument is measuring noise events the
CR:243/4 has three environmental noise measuring groups running.
These can be configured by the user.
The unit also stores short Leq samples every second up to a period
of seven days (circular store). This data can be used for recalculation
of most acoustic parameters using the Acoustic Editor software.
Various Windows based programs are available to communicate with
the CR:243/4, offering varying levels of automation and reporting
facilities. |
