The Pulsar Bluebox Music Noise Monitor is intended for installation in
places of public entertainment (clubs, bars, discos, etc) where excessive
noise can cause complaints from local residents. The cutoff level is set
by opening the box with the keys supplied. When the noise levels get close
to the cutoff, a row of lights warns the D.J. that if action is not taken
the music will be temporarily silenced.
If the cutoff does switch in due to excessive levels of noise the power
to the amplifiers is removed. After about 20 seconds the unit resets and
the power is returned. This is usually sufficient to persuade the D.J.
to bring the levels down a little and avoid legal action being taken.
The Bluebox Music Noise Monitor can be installed by any competent electrician
and simply connects between the electrical supply and the amplifiers.
The box should be mounted on a wall within sight of the D.J. so that
the level indicating lights are visible and the unwanted cutoff can be
avoided.
