Overview
We can supply a range of custom-designed noise monitoring
systems for the following environmental noise applications:
Due to the differing nature of these systems, they are usually
custom made, using a selection of fixed, portable and even
hand-held noise monitors and sound level meters.
Please contact info@noisemeters.com with
your requirements. |

Noise Monitoring System - Fixed and
Portable Monitors |
System Components
Noise monitoring systems consist of a number of components, configured
to suit the application whether it be industrial, construction,
airport or transport noise. A typical system will consist of some
or all of the following:

Fixed
Monitor |
Fixed Noise Monitoring Terminal
Installed on a mast, this style of monitor is designed for
long term noise monitoring around airports and industrial
sites. We have units designed for minimal visual impact
for residential areas and also units to be installed in
harsh environments (extreme temperatures, close to the
sea, etc.) These noise monitors continuously measure and
store the environmental noise parameters, a 1-second time
history of the noise levels and can be set to automatically
detect noise events.

Portable
Monitor |
Portable Noise Monitoring Terminal
These units use a similar acoustic processor and microphone
system to the Fixed monitors, but are designed
to be easily relocated. They can be supplied either as
totally portable units, or as semi-permanent installations
for short to medium term monitoring. The measurements are
the same as the Fixed monitors: environmental
parameters, time history and event detection.

Noise Hub |
"Noise Hub" Server or Stand-Alone PC
At the center of the system is a server (for larger systems)
or stand-alone PC (for smaller systems). Running the Noise
Hub software, this computer acquires the noise measurements
from the remote monitors, storing them for later display,
analysis and reporting. Real-time displays of the current
noise measurements are also available. |

External Data |
External Data - Flight, Weather, Other
Other data that need to be linked to the noise measurements
can be linked in to the Noise Hub system. For
airport noise monitoring systems, the flight data from
a flight information system can be linked in so that the
source of the noise events can be identified. Meteorological data
(wind speed, direction, rainfall, humidity, etc.) is also
very relevant to noise measurement. Information from weather
systems can be linked in too. |

Remote Access |
Remote Access
Reports and measurements can be accessed (with permission granted)
by computers connected over a network or via the Internet.
This gives the convenience of accessing data from other
computers, offices or even elsewhere in the world. |
Configuration and Installation
Based on your noise measurement requirements, we can recommend
the best and most cost effective configuration. We will work closely
with you during this phase to ensure that the final system provides
you with all the parameters and reports that you need.
Although the noise monitors can be self-installed, we would usually
provide a turn-key solution, including installation of the monitors
and software.
Scalable
As these systems are based on a mixture of standard and custom
modules, they can easily be extended and expanded if your requirements
change. Additional noise monitors, either fixed or portable, can
be added to the system, and other features such as remote access
can be easily added.
If you are not sure of your ultimate requirements then we can
supply a minimal system and add modules as required. When you realize
that you need something that we haven't even thought of, a module
can usually be created. Finally, the noise monitors measure and store many more parameters
than are usually needed. Although these are stored on the computer,
they are not included in reports as this just causes confusion.
However, if a need arises at some time in the future, additional
measurements can be included, instantly giving the historical reports. |
